ATLANTA JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL 2016 “SHOW OPEN”

Magick Lantern partnered with The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and Savannah College of Art and Design to produce the 2016 AJFF open through a collaborative learning program offered by SCAD. AJFF members Kenny Blank, Brad Pilcher, Tom Karsch, Scot Safon, Jason Evans, and Rob Baskin, and Leah Sitkoff worked with Creative Director Jim Bowhall and a team of students to create this year’s open over the course of 10 weeks. Students, led by professor Matt Maloney, hand painted real photograph backgrounds and video assets to create a rotoscoped journey through Atlanta. Animated lights travel throughout the city, grabbing people in their homes, off the streets, and take them on a guided trip to the festival. This concept was developed to capture a sense of community and to enhance the atmosphere of the festival.
